One day there was a man who was on a journey. Before he left for his journey, he asked a friend to watch his plough until he returns. The friend promised the man that he will take good care of the plough. However, shortly after the man left for his journey, the friend sold the plough for a lot of money.
When the man came back from his journey he asked his friend for the plough back. The friend came up with an excuse that his house was infested with rats and the biggest rat ate the plough. The man knew his friend was lying, but he let it be.
The next day the man took his friends son out for a walk. After they walked for awhile, the man took the friends son to another friends house and told this friend to watch the boy. When the man returned back to his first friends house, the friend asked where his son was. The man said that a hawk swooped down and picked up the boy and flew away with him. The friend was not pleased, he called the man a liar and wanted the man to go before a judge.
They explained to the judge what happened with the boy and what happened with the plough. The judge told the friend that he had to give the man his plough back to get his son back. The friend was not happy with the man but he returned the plough. The friend also realized that honesty is the best policy.
