I started of looking at Hindu Temple where I learned about the symbolism and use of the temple. The temple symbolizes the seat and body of God, while bringing together humans and the Gods through the ideas and beliefs of Hinduism. I also read about the different parts of the temple and the architecture.
I read that Tirtha is a Sanskrit word refers to any person, text, or place is holy. Tirtha also means to the pilgrimage sites and holy places of Hinduism. Not only can the holy places have to be real like rivers, lakes, or mountains, it can also be a metaphorical place such as person reaching a sacred mind state. The sacred mind state can include truth, forgiveness, or kindness.
I then went onto reading about Dharmaśāstra which is a genre of the Sanskirt text. While there are many different versions of the text, most of the Dharmasutras date back to the 1st millennium BCE. Unfortunately, while there were many Dharmasutras, only four of the texts survived to the present. They are the sutras of Apastamba, Gautama, Baudhayana, and Vasistha.
I finally ended with Brahman, which in Hindu philosophy is the single unity behind diversity in all that exist in the universe. I found it interesting how Brahman is considered hard to understand, as there are different meanings and concepts of Brahman. These concepts include: metaphysics, ontology, axiology, teleology, and soteriology.
