For the extra reading this week, I picked The Turtle and The Geese by Ellen C. Babbitt.
Notes: The Geese became friends with the Turtle over a few weeks. One day the Geese told Turtle that they were going to fly back to their home far away. Turtle wanted to go, but couldn't fly. Geese said okay and told Turtle he'll have to hold the stick in his mouth and not talk the whole way to their home. Turtle agrees. As Geese and Turtle fly away, some children start saying mean things to Turtle. Turtle replies and falls to his death. The Geese agreed that Turtle should have kept his mouth quiet.
