One day there was a Lion who had a mate that was a she-jackal and a young cub. The Cub looked just like the Lion in shape and color, and mane and claws. However, the Cubs voice took after his mother.

The Cub would play with the other young Lions. They would always run into each other and try to make each other tumble around. One day the cubs decided they wanted to play a roaring game. So the Cub opened his mouth really wide and roar. However, his roar wasn't a big scary roar. Instead it was a yelp like a jackal.

The other cubs were shocked at the Cub's voice so they all went to the Lion and asked him about the Cub. They told the Lion that the Cub has his claws, paws, and looks like them, but does not sound like him.

The Lion then told the cubs that they were right. Then the Lion went over to the Cub and told him that if he yelps again they will know what he truly is. The Lion also said that he should never yelp again because his roar is not of a lions roar.

The Cub became sad and walked past the other lions with his tail between his legs. The other cubs snubbed the Cub as he walked by. From then on out, the Cub knew to never open his mouth when he is with the other cubs.
