One day there was a powerful Goblin. This Goblin haunted the little house that was outside of the city gates. No one lived in this house because the Goblin was allowed to eat anyone who tried to sneeze inside the house. This was the Goblin's reward for serving faithfully under the King of the Goblins.
However, the Goblin was not allowed to eat anyone who said "bless you" or "may you live a hundred years and if the sneezer said "the same to you", was also free. If anyone said anything other than those phrases, the Goblin was allowed to eat them.
Soon a father and son, who were traveling, got to the city gates at sunset and they wanted to stay in the city because of fear of robbers or wild soldiers. When they talked to the Porter, the Porter told them there were not allowed to open the gates until the morning. The Father became upset because he was worried about his son. Then the Porter told them about the haunted house with the Goblin. So the Father and Son went to the haunted house.
The Goblin started to play tricks on the Father and Son to get them to sneeze. He started to make a cloud of dust to irritated the father and sons noses. The Father started to sneeze constantly so the Goblin made he way down from his perch to eat the father and son. However, the son saw the Goblin and knew what he was trying to do. The son told bless you and may you live a hundred years, which made the Goblin get ready to claw the fathers neck. But right before he was supposed to the father told his son the same to you. So the Goblin flew back up to his perch.
Then the son started talking to the Goblin and convinced the Goblin to become a vegetarian and to be his errand boy.
