A long time ago there were a few carpenters that lived on a river bank that was near a large forest. Every day the carpenters would travel on the river in boats to go to the forest and cut down the tree to make lumber. One day while the carpenters were cutting down a tree, an Elephant approached the men. The Elephant was limping on three feet. He held up his foot the carpenters and they noticed it was swollen and sore. The carpenters noticed that the Elephants foot had a huge splinter. They knew they had to take out the splinter to they pulled it out and washed out the open wound.

The Elephant was thankful for the carpenters and he wanted to help the carpenters like they helped him. So the Elephant went up to the trees and started pulling them down for the carpenters. The Elephant also rolled the trees down the river to where the carpenters were staying. Sometimes the Elephant will bring the carpenters their tools if they forgot them. In return, the carpenters would feed the Elephant at morning, noon, and night.

The Elephant also had a soon, who was pure white. The son was beautiful and strong. The Elephant brought the son to meet the carpenters. The carpenters were pleased to meet the son and treated him the same way they did to Elephant.

In the evenings when the carpenters finished work the son would go play in the river with the carpenters' children. One evening the king came down the river and saw the Elephants' son. The king wanted the Elephants' son so he payed the carpenters for the young Elephant. The carpenters accepted the money and the young Elephant went to live with the king. The young Elephant lived happily and was treated well with the king.
