One day there lived two deer. Their names were Beauty and Brownie. They both lived with their father and mother in the forest with the herds of other Deer. The father called for Beauty and Brownie and told them how the forest is always in danger when the corn is growing in the fields. He told the girls that they need to go away for awhile and to take some herds of Deer with them. The girls asked why the corn fields were dangerous and he told them because the humans set traps in the fields.
Then Brownie asked their father if he and mother are going to go with her and Beauty. The father told her no because there is enough food for him and the mother and a few other Deer and that is why he is sending Beauty and Brownie away with some of the herd. Then he told them that they have to travel to the high hills because there is plenty of food. He also said that they have to travel by night because the hunters would see them and not to travel near the villages.
Beauty listend to her father. She traveled by night, avoided the hunters, and didn't travel near the villages. She led her herd to the safety of the high hill. However, Brownie did not listen to her father because she forgot what he told her. So each morning Brownie would take her herd out and led them near a village. The hunters in the village saw the herd and started killing the Deer. When it was time to go back to the forest, Beauty led her herd in safety and Brownie led her herd in danger again. When they reached the forest there was all of Beauty's herd left, but only a few from Brownies herd.
